Project Type: Film & Video, Storytelling

The assignment was to make a video to which we were given the soundtrack. We were allowed to do anything we wished except add to, subtract from, or in any way edit the sound. This was my interpretation. While it was not my first idea, I went through several variations because of the 1-week timeframe, lack of resources, and the fact that I had a broken elbow at the time. I came up with the sci-fi approach when I realized the shoot would be much more manageable if I found a way to confine it to my apartment. Though I have no acting experience, I decided to cast myself because again, it would make it much easier for me to control the scope of the project, but also because I felt it would be an interesting challenge for myself.

I storyboarded and planned out the details extensively before the shoot, but the actual video was filmed, edited and produced in 1 day. It's a bit rough around the edges, but I thoroughly enjoyed working on this project, both because of the challenge and high speed, and because I knew it would be a very different approach to the assignment than my classmates'.
